United States Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr., was born July 21, 1947, in Lebanon, Tennessee. After being raised in Knoxville
and attending the area's public schools, he earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Tennessee in 1969.
Congressman Duncan then attended the George Washington University National Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he earned
a law degree in 1973.
